Hi there,
Apparently a member of my site used a business address for his membership- apparently, the business no longer wants me to mail to this address...
Well, number one I do not think I have control over any of this- I can't change the member's email nor can I adjust his settings...
The first contact this business owner was quite snotty and demanding to me using the member's email address- and not declaring that he was someone else-- insisting I stop emails to him- .So I tell him he has to log in and either remove his membership or change his settings.
So I tell him to delete the guy from his end...if the guy is using his business email- he should be able to stop it...
He threatens me even more- then I find out this is NOT the member writing to me it is this business... so he is impersonating the member and I inform him that is illegal... So I write to the member as I have another email for him and I tell the business owner I have written and am waiting for a reply...
Frankly, this member has not been active for yrs... but I still can't adjust the member's page because someone else asks rudely for me to change it!
So, have I handled this correctly???

Hello Suzie!
Can you specify, how exactly did this business owner contact you? Was it an email from the email address in question? And how did you find out that someone is impersonating your member?
Best regards,
The NING Team

I replied that I do not have control over members settings
The business owner then replied using his real name and email address
That is how I found out he was not the member...
Then I told him that he was impersonating the member- therefore since I had no clue who he is- I could not help him.
I do have an alternate email for this member so I have written to him but no reply yet...
Please advise.
Thanks, Suzie
