Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

Hi Team,

As the title explains about a month ago all of my emails I send from the broadcast message feature have been ending up in peoples spam folders. I did not change any settings on my end. This is a very serious issue as I need to contact my communtiy with updates - and now they are no longer recieving them.

Does anyone else have this issue currently? How do we resolve it?

I did contact Ning about it - they mentioned there have been issues with the broadcast messages, but I am not 100% certain if its the same issue. They said they are working on it.

I was looking for a way to contact google about this as it might be related but I have not found out how to do so.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers.

  • Hello!

At the moment we experience some troubles with notifications/broadcast messages delivery in general, but it has nothing to do with emails going to the spam folder.

It mostly depends on the content of your email and lots of other factors. We can offer you to set up DKIM. It is not an ultimate solution to this issue, but will definitely increase the chance of getting to the inbox instead of the spam folder.

Please DM me for further instructions.

    Best regards,

    The NING Team

    • Yes please, any help is appreciated. I will DM you.

  • I use mine to announce live sessions and mine are not going to spam. This would indicate at least that it is network specific if that's any help. There is a way to contact Google to have your emails not go to spam, but just hitting 'report not spam' is the same thing. Your best bet on that is to request your members do this themselves and when you get enough people reporting it as not spam, the status will change automatically.

As a workaround, they can simply add your address to their contacts folder but in my experience, a lot of people don't actually know how to do that because most services are automated.

Hope that helps narrow it down some for you. Ning messages in general often end up in spam because Ning notifications are very noisy. The first thing people do is turn off all emails! But broadcast messages ought to override that, surely?
