Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

You can have a store right on your Ning website by using Amazon.com's affiliate site called "Amazonassociates".

You make 6 to 15% on everything that your visitors buy and it cost you nothing... and you don't do anything either. YES... easy money... and at the same time increasing the SEO of your site!

The more product pages you have the more keywords you gain for Google searches to find your website.

Now that Ning has given us full control of our Pages you can iframe in a store that you create from amazonassociates right into your Ning site. (see example: Surf Shop)

  1. Create an account at "amazonsassociates".
  2. Add a Page: http://YOUR-NING-SITE.com/page/page/new
  3. Rename the URL of the Add a Page. Check the box "Use full page width (hide sidebar)". Check the box "Manage title and meta tags manually (advanced)" and type in your description of the product or category.
  4. Format that Add a Page using simple html having a table with two columns & two rows. See attachment for a simple html formatted table (just to get you started)
  5. Create an iframe of a "category" or "product detail" from your Amazon store and paste it into the bottom right column. Ex: <iframe src="http://astore.amazon.com/surf_shop-20" title="Waterproof Cameras" width="100%" height="4000" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> (The 4000 seems very long but keep it because the page may fill with Amazon product comments and reviews.) PS. there is no way to have the iframe length change automatically.
  6. Type in a "Title" into the top right hand column.
  7. Create a side menu and paste it into the left column. (I used Jens Toggle Content with Links) Just plain cool!
  8. Click "Create Page" at the bottom of your Add a Page and you're done!
  9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 with a different Amazon category or product. Now all you have to do is change out the iframe source of step 5, then the URL and the Title & Meta tags from step 3.

*Important tip* Sell only what is relevant to your website branding.

This took me approx 2 hours a day for only 1 week to make a complete online store with 1000's of products.

You got a visitor on your website, sell them something!

You're welcome to visit my online store to see how I implemented this. Surf Store for waterproof cameras

Login to your Amazon aStore, click on "Color & Design" then at the top left you'll see two links, "Edit CSS | Shared Themes". Click on "Shared Themes". Scroll thru the themes until you find "tight left iframe" and select it.

Then you can create your own menu bar and fit it all nicely onto your site.

It's very important that you have your own menu-bar. This will allows you to have multiple pages of product and/or category with keywords, meta tags & urls for each page that's relative to the branding of your website.

The more pages of keywords, the better the chances of visitors finding your website! Even if they don't buy it still increases your SEO... big time!... and sooner or later they'll start buying.

        • Here's how you do it:

After you have changed your "Color & Design" theme to "tight left iframe", select any product on your Amazone aStore, then right click on the item and select "This Frame" - "Open Frame in New Window". (Example: http://astore.amazon.com/dieselpunks-20/detail/0765326159) Now grab its url and iframe it onto a new "Add a Page" (via step 3 & 5 above).

Now that you have your new url (of your site) forward your blog links to that!

Check out mine: Go to my home page- http://surfer-shot.com and click on one of the camera products on my right hand column. You'll see just the actual product.

            • I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Check out mine: Go to my home page- http://surfer-shot.com and click on one of the camera products on my right hand column. It'll take you to the actual product. It's just like what you want your blog links to do.

                • A page for each one. The links that find those come in from my blogs, links I have on other pages, forums on different sites as well as SEO Google searches.

Obviously not every single camera as there's so many but I'll spend a few minutes a day adding one.

Notice that I also have a horizontal picture with text menu going across the top of each page too linking to different categories. You want to link the crap out of each page. Put them everywhere you can think of.

right click on any product and open in new tab.  go to the image and right click -copy image location.  go to your post and add an image by URL and paste the image location into there..then go back and copy the address of the product and paste that into the link field where you want the reader to go when they click on the image...simple as that...see it in action here: http://landsurveyorsunited.com/notes/Surveyor_Cyber_Monday_Madness_...

  • Scott many thanks for this we are working on this right now ! this could be really good
