I just wanted to give a quick update of how well Facebook marketing has been working for my site.
I am not paying for traffic. The traffic i get is from my Facebook profiles and fan pages.
My website is heavily photo based. So every day I post a few photos to my pages on facebook.
Yesterday just 4 posts on facebook have generated almost 500 visitors.
I am creating a program to post hourly and I expect this will generate 1500-2000 additional visitors per day.

Yeah its the perfect storm. Members post photos to the site. I post them to facebook which in tern drives in more traffic and more members.
To be transparent I have almost 25,000 friends and likers on facebook between all my accounts.
This took 6-9 months of work. But now I am gaining around 100 or so friends and likers per day without having to do anything but post new photos.
Based on the growth I am seeing I expect facebook to generate up to 5000 visitors per day in the next 6 months. Providing the auto post program is working properly.

You have a great website, Brian. I love the muted browns and the overall feel.
But you are right on about Facebook. We have a Facebook page for our site and it generates great traffic.
My one warning: if you post hourly to your fan page, people that have "liked" your fan page will start to get spammed to all heck on their walls.
I recommend four times a day. But that's just my opinion.

I have an outdoor yoga photo contest goin on and trying to figure out how best to do this. So - 3 questions:
1) Is there a quick (easy) way to post a photo to my FB page - or do I have to drop the photo someplace onto my computer in order to do that? Or is it really as manual of a process as it seems?
2) Do you recommend using ALBUMS - or just doing singular photos?
3) I have an automatic feed onto my FB page for all activity. (Though it doesn't seem to grab everything or takes a lot of time.) Anyway - do you recommend doing this - or is that spam and I should find another way?
(Merging FB and Ning is new for me...)

I typically just post the url of the picture to the facebook activity box.
You will have to add the photos you want to share this way on your ning community
