Hi NCs,
I know many NCs are trying to figure out how to make Ning 3.0 network wider. If you have successfully figured it out please share the code here.
Here is my suggestion for the main page using 3 column layout. Well, this is just the basic idea to have wider network and this code will work on three column layout on the main page only. Just copy and paste the code into design studio via Design Studio> Custom CSS.
if you are looking for someone to re-design your ning site, directly contact me via my email id bernardmax2@gmail.com

The Code
/* MAIN PAGE LAYOUT HACK 3.0 by Bernard Lama*/
.pull8 {
left: 0px;
}
.push4 {
left: 0px;
}
.container {
width: 1202px;
margin-top: 10px;
}
.span8 {
width: 507px;
}
.span4 {
width: 352px;
}
.span5 {
width: 400px;
}
.span11 {
width: 812px;
}
.span6 {
width: 400px;
}
.span10 {
width: 812px;
}
.span16 {
width: 960px;
margin-left: 120px;
}
.span-auto, .span, .span1, .span2, .span3, .span4, .span5, .span6, .span7, .span8, .span9, .span10, .span11, .span12, .span13, .span14, .span15, .span16, .span-full {
padding: 5px;

A few of my pages came out "wonky" with modules overlapping. I'll play with it a little. Thank you Bernard.
Yes Kos it should happen because every page has different ids and classes. My above code is just the basic idea of wider network...a bunch of code will not work for all networks because of variation in ids and classes.
Best
Bernard
It would be nice if you would've made that disclaimer when you posted it, just sayin'.
thanks for your suggestion Kos.
Thanks Bernard,
Worked perfectly for me! It's the only page that looks decent now! Of course I just started this morning!LOL!

You are welcome Suzie, I will definitely help you for other pages too...just pm me.
Hello Friend, Can you help us with the code to get all that in one bar above, like on your network. It looks neat, and unique. We're unable to use the old template from our previous nings. www.talkingrich.org, etc

Hey this is neat!
Thank you I'm sure Bernard will say the same thing :-)
I would recommend putting this code on a stylesheet and place it in your Custom Code - <Head> Code box.. For no delay load time :-) you have a great day Elshara
Thank you George for your addition. Great job..
