Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

I started my network a couple months ago. Recently, one of my new members is someone who also runs a Ning network. She said that it is a very important for me to have a disclaimer so that I don't get sued for millions of dollars! I plan to contact my lawyer tomorrow to inquire about this, but I would also like ask the members here what my disclaimer should include. Specifically, what should my disclaimer and terms of service include if my members are sharing photos and videos? Are there sample disclaimers and terms of service anywhere that I can look at? What other legal documents do I need to have, and where on the website should they be posted? Thank you very much in advance! Michael Landau

  • Michael I'm in the process of investigating the very same thing [maybe your Lawyer and my Lawyer should talk *lol*] but in the meantime, you could take a look at the wording in #17 of the Ning agreement. With a little modification, it may get you on the right path. Good luck http://bit.ly/66p0QC
    • Thanks Kos,

I really appreciate your help! Ning should provide assistance in this area, and I'm really surprised that they do not! Good luck to you as well!

      Michael
      • I don't think *they* want the liablity either so I can understand. My only other thought would be to visit another site which is similar in content to yours and see what they've got as a disclaimer. Why make the Lawyers richer *lol* Good luck-
