I currently own Lunatic-Friends. I'm just starting out with Ning 3.0. I nee a lot of help. My old Ning 2.0 stuff doesnt even work.

You're welcome! I'm here to represent my members and friends.
Buddypress is pretty amazing for an open source platform, but your members won't be able to style their pages without knowing how to code a plug-in that allows it. Not my area of expertise. :(
It has Groups, forums and tons of customizable plug-ins. http://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/
