Mine it is not, Since I am at 3.0 with very few modules.
Google Analytics shows at impressive 67% bounce rate.
Today I installed a Powered RebelMouse Site and I am starting to measure Bounces
I want to compare the rate against Ning 3.0
If the Bounce rate of RebelMouse is lower than Ning, then we have to think about it.
What is your thinking into this matter?

Bad news for Ning. It has double BOUNCE Rates compared to RebelMouse.
Ning 67%
Rebel Mouse 32%
Think about the Implications. !!!!
What is your Bounce Rates?
Bounce rate is a way of measuring the quality of traffic that come to your site and it is usually measured in two ways:
It's a great metric to track, but you have to add a little context before you can jump to conclusions and start making the necessary improvements to site structure and SEO. Try answering these questions: How much traffic do your Ning and RebelMouse sites capture? How much time do visitors spend on your community vs. your RM site? Is your RM site just one page? Who are the top referrers to both your Ning community and RM site?

ps 67% is actually not that terrible.
As you may see, I do not know what that Hell is Bounce Rate. Since Ning take an eternity to load, and that has nothing to do with content, then I thought that was the root problem.
But you are the Experts so your comments and discussion will lower my worries.
Let see what comes out of this post.
You got it. That is my whole point. Ning takes an eternity to load.
People move away before fully loaded the pages. And I am not alone with this claim. Others are saying the same.
Let see what they have to says. Everyone should check its BOUNCE RATE and see if they are happy with what they see.
Like SP says, Ning sites load fine as long as you don't weigh it down with tons of stuff. That goes for any website.
My suggestion to you is to shorten your RebelMouse page to a height of 1500. Limit the amount of items you are displaying in your modules. Instead of using one large image for your background, you should use a seamless background tile, you can find one to your liking here, or search the internet for seamless background images.
I came across this discussion while looking for idea/hints/tips/ on how to lower my sites bounce rate. It is steadily getting higher and higher.
If it was not for the great alexa ranking I would be extremely worried.
55.80 bounce rate is not what I call good
Does anyone have any ideas on how to lower this rate?
I have a slow page speed, but I put that down to the amount of information that I have on the front page

Your thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated
