I am new to NING-3.0 and just learning the ropes. But, apparently, there is no way to notify my members of added content I put up on my NING site via a comma delineated master email list as is available in the Members/members/+ Invite More People function; is this true?

You can send a broadcast message which goes out to all your members, their is also a message template section you can use also. Below is an image showing where you can find these.
