Google says my ning network http://www.kkartlab.in
is not a secure site to visit. Passwords and credit card information can be stolen. Why is this so? I thought all Ning networks are secure. It also says 26 cookies are in use to track all information.
This warning from google is driving traffic away from my site.
Even my anti-virus sometimes warns me about the site. I will have to opt for exemption to visit it.
What should I do to make my network secure?
Can someone from Ning answer my question?
Can other Ning creators tell me do they face similar warnings from google?
Thanks

Hi there!
You are receiving this warning from Chrome because there is no SSL certificate installed for your custom domain on our servers. Since you are on 2.0 we have to install it manually, and there are two options available, we can install teh certificate that you can purchase by yourself, or we can install the free certificate from let's encrypt. The second option just requires your verbal or written approval here on the forum or anywhere else (email, chat, call). If you choose the first option teh procedure a bot different and have more steps.
Please choose one of the options and get back to me with an answer.
Best regards,
Ning Team.
Thanks for your reply Kyryl. Yes, I want the certificate to be installed. I don't know the difference between the two options you gave but please do install the certificate from let's encrypt. This, I feel, is the easiest way to do it. Is it a permanent one?
Please let me know all the details about it.
Hi there!
Yep, the free option is the easiest for the creators, as only confirmation to use a certificate from let's encrypt is required instead of the whole process of the custom certificate installation. Besides, let's encrypt provides certificates for free, so in most cases that is the best solution in my opinion.
I have added your network to the list, and when the tech team would be issuing certificates for 2.0 network next time I'll let you know that everything is done.
Best regards,
Ning Team.
Thanks. Hope I can see a secure certificate soon for my network.
Kyryl my 2.0 Ning network is also not secure. I didn't know fixing it was as easy as asking for the free certificate. Could you please also do it for vloasis.ning.com, provided no other obligations are involved?
Hi there!
Since you are using our subdomain I have already activated https encryption on your network. This could be done under the domain mapping page by ticking "Yes" right to "use SSL for your network". However, since you are on the Mini plan you don't have access to that settings. So just for the future reference for the people who are still on Mini plan, in order to enable SSL for your network, you can upgrade to Plus monthly plan or ask us to activate SSL for you.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Ning Team.
Hi Kyryl,
Thanks for your very helpful reposne to Dr K.
I'm also being contacted by members concerned about an insecure site. I'd be most grateful if you could pleae install a free certificate from let's encrypt on www.harringayonline.com.
Can you do that?
Hello!
I have asked our admins to install LetsEncrypt certificate for your custom domain, and you should receive an email notification once it is done.
Best regards,
The NING Team
Hi there Kyryl. You obviously know me :) Lol, You know I have a 3.0 website, How can I do the same thing for my website?
Hi!
Our admin has checked your network and here are two images that are blocking the secure connection to your site:
http://lbgtworld.ucoz.com/Home_Page-mooSocial_Plugins-php_Social_Ne...
http://lbgtworld.ucoz.com/200w_d.gif
Since http://lbgtworld.ucoz.com website doesn't have SSL certificate it is better to re-upload them use from secured storage.
The first image is located in Below Header on your home page and the second gif is in the custom CSS (both Global and Theme CSS).
Also, we can see that for some reason your uploaded custom sound for chat is not https protected as well. We will deal with the custom sound on our end, so once it is done and your http images are removed everything should be ok.
Best regards,
The NING Team
