Perhaps this is a tip I should keep to myself, but it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere and I think NCs should know about this revelation I had last night. You can embed presentations, documents in flash paper and even whole flash websites into your network using the Embed Video Option!!!
How did I arrive at this revelation?
Well at least on my network, land surveyors aren't terribly savvy at finding videos to embed and documents are more useful to them for sharing. So....Notice how the embed page says the following:
Add Videos From YouTube, Hulu, Vimeo or Another Service
I thought to myself......ANY EMBED CODE???
But why does it say nothing about thisin the help files on Ning? is it possible that they do not even know this???
The fact of the matter is that the embed video option really is nothing more than an ability to add an object within the RSS enclosure for that Videos Feed.
See it in action here using a Wix website for land surveyors support groups.
See it in action here using an Issuu Document.
I've tested this with several third party applications such as Wix, Slideshare, Scribd and Issuu and they work. If you test another service and it works, please add the name of the service below.

Would be nice if we had the ability to create different ''add'' and "view'' functions to our networks using this 'generic' embed feature - that way we could present different content based on its type e.g. slides, documents, etc.
now thats an idea..
wow.. i dint know this
i don't think anyone knew this..
wow..also works with Embedit.in Check it out in action here on Land Surveyors United
I did something like this a while back but the downside to it is that you're documents or whatever other type of embed you're putting in there are mixed in with your "Videos" page.
The last thing I want to do is confuse my members browsing videos at http://surfershot.com.
(just a little critique) ;)
I found a PPV streaming video service that uses paypal and amazon pay to access video, and it embeds in the Ning video platform, I will be using the service to monitize and distribute full feature and short films. Here is a video I loaded to the site for a test http://fansoffilm.com/video/this-aint-new-york
if you like the player please tell them Fans Of Film sent you
it's nice ... but if i look here http://landsurveyorsunited.com/video/video/listForContributor?scree... i am still missing an option for us NC that we can upload an tumbnail for each seperate videos. Vimeo provides this for their user ... but if a video embed code do not display a tumbnail we seen always a tumbnail by default ...
