Endless Scrolling

I had a code that gives you endless scrolling. It's great for your Video, Photo, and Member pages.

However it only works on N2 sites placed inside your Custome Code box. I was hoping that someone with coding abilities can make this code work on our N3 sites:

<!-- Endless Scrolling FWN BEGIN -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/126582704?profile=original"></script>
<!-- Endless Scrolling FWN END -->

  • It could be made to work in 3.0 but I wouldn't recommend it for a few reasons. The first is the users would not be able to get to any content after the activity feed as it would always be pushed away down the page. Also when viewing in mobile or tablet the responsive side of things will move any side columns underneath the main column so if you have your activity feed there then any content in the side bars will not be able to be used as the constant scrolling will push the content down and so your users would not be able to access or see that content.

Contant scrolling could put  members off as it can get really frustrating and also it would take a hit on performance.

  • That's actually why I want the endless scrolling. I think you're missing the point. It only works on the /video, /photo, /members pages.

The user is on those pages only to search and the search box is always on top. All the other boxes are not needed and just confuse the mobile version user not knowing they have to scroll way down past the stuff you're talking about to see what they came there for.
You can view it on my N2 site here: https://community.surfoutlook.com/photo

  •  I'm glad to see that my Endless Scroll app from 8 years ago is still mostly working!  The "loading" graphic isn't showing because your N2 site is now https and the graphic is http - although it may show on some browsers with some settings.

I'll check my code folders when I get a chance, and see if I ever implemented this for N3.

In the meantime, if someone wants to take my existing copyrighted code and update it, they can DM me and I'll consider allowing them to do that for no charge.
