Current status of the Ning Platform is always available on the Ning Status Blog.

We want to integrate another website into our Ning site. The tabs allow you to direct someone to the other site, but we'd like to display the other site within a textbox and integrate it into our Ning site so that people don't leave the site and get lost.

Is there a way to do this in a frame?

Thanks!

  • Yes, I use an i-frame on one of my pages.  Makes visitors feel as though it's part of your site (but it's not).  Here's the code I use in 3.0.  Just past it into a content box, add the URL for the site you're choosing and adjust the size if necessary.   Good luck!

    <iframe width="100%" height="1200" src="YOUR OUTSIDE SITE URL" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0"></iframe>

  • Thanks so much KOS. This really helps!

This is a great tool for making responsive embeds

place your webpage URL inbetween the '' under the Generic Iframe option...it will give you a code with responsive styles too..

    <iframe src='YOURLINK'></iframe>

    • JF well isn't that slick!  I tried it out and it looks great on any size.  Bookmarked that page.  Thank you!

  • Thanks so much JFarrow! I really appreciate the help. :)

  • I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's not working. I pasted this code into a content page and got a grayed out blank space:

    <iframe width="100%" height="1200" src="http://homeperformanceforum.org/" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0"></iframe>

    • I think it's Ning; not you.  I'm having difficulty getting pages to load and api.ning.com is what's holding it up.  Server trouble?  I'll try to file a ticket and see if it goes through.  Hang in there........

    • fwiw you can check the internet.  There's a ton of posts out there saying Google doesn't support iframe.........depending on the google version you have.   They're concerned over security (seems to be the reason).

Definitely have Ning take a look at it. There's someone answering support tickets today - go ahead and file one.

      • Oops some 'adblock' add ons seem to interfere as well.  Again, check the internet.
