Don't laugh. ;-) Since most custom coding is probably done with multiple browser windows or tabs open at the same time, I feel this is an important reminder.
If you are taking advantage of your test network (sandbox environment) on your Ning Network - - and you should be; when you are testing new CSS or Custom Code, be sure to always look up in your browser window and make sure you are in fact in the active window for your test site, BEFORE YOU SAVE.
Even with the noticeable warning at the top of our Ning Test sites, when you're working and cycling through the windows, it's very easy to click on SAVE while in the live site window, instead of your test window.
Bottom line: When you edit your CSS or Custom Code, and you are using your test site, before you SAVE - - always, always, always...
- Hesitate one second, even if it hurts.
- Look up.
- Make sure your active window is your test site.
- Then, click on SAVE.
Hope this helps someone NOT save their test code, to their live site.
Another Critical Reminder: Always make sure you have copied/pasted all of your code from the Advanced CSS and the Custom Code Box, add to text files, and save as backups.

Me too! This just happened to a Client of mine, and he was in a panic. Fortunately I had his backups. He did too, but was too rattled to find them.
It is a good reminder for all of us.

Thanks Solo! This is awesome to hear, and has been one of my primary goals since the beginning of JenSocial. It's really great to hear it's happening the way it should.
Best,
Jen
Oh no! Not fun. Just make sure if you change even one character of that code in either box, you paste it all to a text file and save it.
Best,
Jen
I'm glad you gave this advice out Jen. I did this the other day in a different note. I thought I had totally messed up my network, was almost to a cussing point, only to find out I was still IN the test network, lol.
